Chessington Confirm Safari Skyway Closure

Over the past few weeks, there has been a lot of speculation about the future of Safari Skyway. During the winter event and closed season at Chessington World of Adventures, pictures have shown the removal of the queue line of Safari Skyway with rumours of it leaving. On the Chessington website, they have confirmed it will not be returning for the 2016 season with a small paragraph explaining their decision;

"Safari Skyway has been a firm favourite for many years and in fact was one of the original rides at Chessington World of Adventures Resort as it opened as a Theme Park back in 1987. As a result of ongoing maintenance issues, the decision has been made to retire Safari Skyway from the Chessington ride offering. This was a difficult decision to make as we know the ride has been a firm favourite amongst our Adventurers over the years however with exciting new shows and attractions planned for the 2016 season and beyond, we’re committed to ensuring the continued development of the Resort."

The attraction has been suffering from issues since the summer, with it being closed from the end of August till the end of the season. This family favourite which has been around for the past 28 years, will be missed by many of the regular visitors!

Check out our on ride POV of the ride below:

Chessington have also annouced that Rameses Revenge will only be opening on peak days during the 2016 season. This is one of the parks decisions to save money over the 2016 season.
