Alton Towers have announced that The Flume will be retired after 34 years of service. It was one of the most loved water rides in the resort during it's time.
The flume opened back in 1981 and it's last operational day was 10th October 2015! Alton Towers commented "As we look to our long term future, it is essential that we continue to invest in thrilling new attractions and experiences and we’ll keep you posted with news of what will replace The Flume as soon as we can but for now, our exciting plans for the site are still top secret!"
Alton Towers also request if you have any memories of your time on The Flume, to use the hashtag #Goodbyeflume on Twitter or Facebook.
This is the second ride to be removed from the Alton Towers lineup in 2016 alongside Ripsaw which was seen being removed earlier on in the year.
This isn't the only park that Merlin Entertainments own which have had some of it's rides closed. Safari Skyway has been removed from Chessington World of Adventures and Loggers Leap will be shut all year at Thorpe Park Resort.
