Thrilling Sum Up - January 2018


January 2018 was a news filled month for both the UK and Europe. Below is everything worth mentioning that we managed to capture and think you should keep an eye on!

Thorpe Park Resort

  • Saw Alive to reopen during summer period from 12pm

  • All rides to open from 10am excluding actor lead attractions which will open from 12pm

  • Annual Pass day will be on Sunday 18th of March

  • Walking Dead promotion (Safe Zone and missing Chloe Burrows)

  • IMAScore release a Thorpe Park CD with the music they have created for the resort

  • Confirmed extended opening times (10pm closures from Thurs-Sat through summer)

  • Pizza Pasta building is expected to have building extended

Alton Towers Resort

  • Ride opening times to be staggered from 9:30 - 11:00

  • Opening times confirmed for 2018

  • Towers Loving Care finish last installment on Nemesis project

  • SW8 was officially announced to be called The Wicker Man

  • Enchanted Forest Tree Top Quest (high ropes) to be closed for 2018

  • The Waterpark receives new paint work and updates flume with lights and sound.

Chessington World of Adventures

  • Annual pass weekend announced as 10th & 11th of March

  • Tiger Falls expected to open on May 5th

Merlin Entertainments

  • Merlin Annual Pass Sale Starts

  • Changes in restrictions and terms & conditions made on all annual passes

  • Warwick Castle bring back War of roses show in 2018

European Theme Parks

  • Europa Park announce Eurosat - CanCan Coaster

  • Liseberg start construction on new B&M dive coaster called Valryia

  • Toverland announce new themed entrance, new themed area and new B&M wingrider coaster called Fenix, to be launched on July 7th
