clueQuest is one of London's best escape room companies that can be found in the capital. Not only is it strong contender in London, but the rest of the UK also. clueQuest is themed around set a characters known as Mr Q (the mouse who is now your boss) and Professor Blacksheep (the evil sheep who wants to take over the world).
All the rooms within clueQuest follow a similair structure with a different storyline based on these characters. Each story moves on from the previous but can also be enjoyed by doing any or each different room. This being our third visit and third room we have done with them, we were super excited to see the latest production of an escape room that has been in the making for over 2 years!
Our mission - "In order to stop the Professor from breaching our firewall, you and your team will have to access Mr Q's old base. The only way in, however, is to shrink down to the size of a mouse with the help of the Shrink'o'Mat. Word of caution, agents: the technology you'll be exposed to is...a bit unstable and still experimental. You'll have only 60 minutes to counteract the cyber attack and secure the mainframe before the Shrink'o'Mat's effect wears off and things get messy. "
clueQuest really deliver on three keys points from past experiences. Unique themeing and props, a great captive storyline & quality gameplay. With the new room cQ ORIGENES, they have not let go of this vision at all, if anything, it's even better!
As with any escape room, we do not want to give anything away about what you might encounter inside. The room is split into different sections and is fairly well sized compared to other escape rooms and the exsisting ones they have. Clues are given very well from start to end and they have a non linear gameplay style, which means you can do several things at once instead of being forced to do a certain puzzle at a certain time.
clueQuest have trialed out a key & padlock gamestyle room out with cQ ORIGENES which takes away from the original style of most escape rooms. This means all puzzles use technology or other forms of cleverly designed puzzles for you to unlock or solve. We think that they have thrown a great comedy aspect in the room whilst they have done this to show how serious they were about not having any padlocks.
The puzzles we did come across were unique, different and varied in style. The use of technology in these rooms are outstanding and it requires the use of several different computers to fully be operation and function. We love escape rooms that are now developing with technology to have a fully automatic design within the escape room with no manual aspect to the game, to stop any human error.
The room overall was themed from the floor to the ceiling with clues being hidden everywhere and anywhere. The creative and imagination of this room has truely created the best escape room we believe we will experience in 2019!
Overall, you will not come across a similair escape room like cQ ORIGENES or a company like clueQuest. It's theme may seem child friendly and more family orinated however, it targets to all spy hero wannabes!
