EscapeLand - Da Vinci’s Exploration Room - Review 2017

EscapeLand is an escape room organisation based in London which opened in February 2016. They currently offer two rooms and experiences for you to solve. Based over on Oxford Street, they are an easy to get to experience being a few minute walk from Tottenham Court Road Tube Station. We were invited down while we were in London to experience one of the two experiences being the Da Vinci’s Exploration Room.

This room is based on Leonardo Da Vinci himself and his life, using films and his life experiences to help design the puzzles and experience. When we entered EscapeLand, we were greeted by one of the owners and then given the safety briefing and talk before starting our journey. We were given a radio to contact him if we needed any help during our experience and a white board and pen to write down any clues that we might need to remember.

Given 60 minutes, we entered the experience. This experience had three rooms overall which all had completely different themeing and different from the last. The story and theme linked also from each room and puzzle we did encounter. The first room was quite dark and nothing was too obvious clue wise starting out. There was music in the background to set the theme and was very well put together. The second room was much more lighter and had more of a maniacal garden kind of feel. Having features such as a mini waterfall, plants, and costumes for you to wear.

The third room was quite hidden and wasn't what we expected as there was no door way entry (you'll have to visit yourself to see how you got in there) but this was one of the most unique features and puzzles of the experience and have seen through all the escape rooms we have currently completed. The theme went back to its dark and mysterious beginnings and again, had some really interesting puzzles.

As with any experience, we don't want to give too much away as we want you to experience it for yourself. Our positives overall are the themeing and story line which were spectacular, including some really unique puzzles never seen before, along with intense backing music. What we would would say is this is one of the hardest escape rooms we have done and did struggle to complete all the puzzles in the allotted time. However, they kindly allowed us to finish the experience with some extra time.

If you do wish to experience the Da Vinci Exploration Room or try the other experience they have to offer, then head over to their website (http://escapegameslondon.co.uk/). They also have a teaser video (https://m.youtube.com/watch?t=15s&v=0I4VFivDj_c), and to follow any upcoming experiences they may add in the future plus any news and offers, follow them on social media on Facebook and Twitter.
