Land Of The Tiger | Tiger Rock Review | Chessington World of Adventures Resort

On Saturday 28th of April, we were kindly invited down by Chessington World of Adventures to have a sneak preview of the new Land Of The Tiger area. The area opens to the public on Saturday May 5th featuring 4 new Amur tigers and Tiger Rock.

Land Of The Tiger is a retheme of the Mystic East area which included Dragon Falls, a log flume ride. The new area includes 4 Amur Tigers, known as the largest tiger species in the world. Endangered in the wild, there are only around 500 left wild in the world. Kyra, Kalinka, Olga and Tsar are the new "roar-some foursome" that are the stars of the area. The enclosure is one of the largest yet for the resort, allowing the tigers have several different areas to spread out over. This also features Europe's first overhead trails, meaning the enclosure has points where the guests can walk underneath the enclosure as the tigers cross. During our visit, you can see the tigers using the overhead trials often as they engage with the Tiger Rock ride.

The whole Land Of The Tiger area has had a massive refresh from its previous guise. Buildings have been repainted to match the new theme. With the enclosure being large, there are several viewing points to see the Amur Tigers. This makes the area look more complete and we love these small additions to allow guests to have a better chance of seeing the new tigers during their visit.

Tiger Rock, previously known as Dragon Falls, is the rethemed log flume ride which embarks on a river journey through uncharted territory and allows you to see one of the world's most majestic animals from the waterway. The ride has had some additions since we last seen it including the new feature piece, a large rock carved tiger.

The biggest change to the ride is the ride station. The station has had a complete retheme to match the new theme. This includes new immersive lighting, projection mapping, new soundtrack, a tigers face and tiger inspired artwork. Along the back wall of the building therr is illuminated artwork which really looks stunning. The staff are also seen with new outfits to go along with the new theme. The biggest addition to the station is the new light show which happens every 5 minutes.

Overall, Land Of The Tiger is a great new, family-friendly themed area added to the resort. This is a big improvement from the original Mystic East area. The new Amur Tigers have settled in well and are the new big stars of the resort. Tiger Rock will be loved with the all the changes made to the experience.
