Oxygen Freejumping Park - Southampton Review 2017

Earlier this year we were invited down by the Oxygen team to cover their Southampton freejumping trampoline park! Oxygen Freejumping is the UKs number one trampoline park operator with 7 parks across the UK. Scattered from Manchester and Wigan, to London and Southampton, with their latest venue just recently opening in Croydon.

Oxygen pride themselves on safety and diversity, with each park containing over 10 zones of different thrilling activities ranging for all ages. Some of these zones are the airbag, foam pit, dodgeball and multi-connected trampolines! On top of all that, they have a variety of special nights and activities hosted every week which cater for everybody. Including, toddler sessions for the younger audience, the oxygen project night which allows the younger audience to bounce to chart music with strobe lighting, and a peaceful play session which is autism and disable friendly!

We arrived at the Southampton venue, and were welcomed in the spacious reception area, where the friendly staff checked us in for our session and gave us our special non-slip socks. There are free lockers available for all your loose belongings and shoes. Once we were ready before our session we headed into the safety briefing area, where a video was played and a talk was given explaining all the do's and don'ts. Session's are run hourly, so once it was time, we were sent on our way into the fun-filled freejumping arena.

The first thing we saw on our way in was the impressive airbag and wall jumping section, accompanied by the loud energetic music. It really set us in the mood for the session ahead. We headed straight to the parkour area at the back of the attraction, that had various cool and unique skill sections. We particularly liked the challenge of the angled platforms, trying to jump from one to the other in quick succession.

We then decided to check out the Dodgeball court, where they have one for adults and one for children. With 8 trampolines a side, and lots of foam balls, we were set for a lot of competitive action which we really enjoyed. These sections are highly popular, and gives great variation from the main trampoline arena which we made our way to next. With a mass of interconnected trampolines, some different sizes and even trampolines for walls, it makes for endless bouncing fun with your group and others.

There's no denying, trampolining is a demanding and tiring activity and we took a brief break by the handy drinking water fountain. Refreshed and ready to continue our experience, we headed back to the airbag and wall jumping section. The airbag is really unique and a great alternative to foam pits found at other trampoline parks which can be a struggle to get back out of. The wall jumping section is for the more experienced guests, which challenge them to bounce on their back and see how increasingly high they can run vertically up the wall. There are also 2 performance trampolines, which are great for practicing trampolining skills.

With our session coming to the end and all guests were asked to leave the arena, at this time we made our way to the on-site cafe for further refreshments. The cafe sells various items, including drinks & snacks at a reasonable price. Overall, we had an exhilarating time at Oxygen Freejumping park in Southampton, and would recommend it for all age groups and families who want an energetic & fun experience.

We would like to thank Oxygen for the opportunity to experience the park and we hope to visit one of the venues again in the future.
