Parc Asterix Summer Trip | TK Holidays Sponsored Trip 2018

This summer, we were lucky enough to attend Parc Asterix with our partner TK Holidays. TK Holidays (previously known as Team Kara Events), is an affordable coach holiday service which travels to multiple European destinations including some of the best thrill locations.

Further information on where they go and who they are can be found by clicking the image below!

Our journey started in London at around half 6 in the morning where we met our coach and driver for the journey to France! This journey began on the Friday morning and was joined along with the Disneyland Paris trip. As TK Holidays are still relatively new, sometimes the trips do encounter a few numbers issues and have to cancel if they don't get enough passengers for the trip. However, on this journey we managed to tag along with the Disney trip already leaving and have the option of joining the Disneyland trip or splitting off to Parc Asterix on the Saturday.

As per most standard journeys with TK Holidays, we made our way to Dover to catch the ferry to Calais. From here, we made our way towards Paris to head to our hotel which was a short drive from Disneyland Paris and Paris itself. We arrived at around 6pm and had the evening to do what we wanted. We made our way into Paris to see the Eiffel tower. This was around an hours train ride from a local train station and was easy enough to organise. However, in the local area you could of went to Disney Village or Val D'Europe for the evening which was much closer.

On the Saturday morning, we made our way to Parc Asterix which was around a 30 minute drive from the hotel. We arrived just after 9am and managed to get into the park at half 9 before rides and attractions opened from 10am. The park was open until 11pm during selected summer dates with a firework and light show ending the day in the evening from half 10. Attractions were also open and closed at half 10 also.

Parc Asterix is based on the comic book series Asterix. Hosting 6 roller coasters, 4 water rides and 25 other attractions. Queue times varied across the park but if timed correctly, the longest queue we did all day was around 45 minutes. Queues moved super fast like most European parks and it never felt like a long experience before getting on the ride itself.

The top attractions with the longest queues most of the day were Oziris, Tonnerre De Zeus and Pegase Express. These three coasters all packed a punch and were worth going for alone. Each ride was beautifully themed and perfect for the whole family whilst having a thrilling aspect about each of them.

The water rides selection at the park did not disappoint also. Especially over the summer period and during the day, they didn't go a miss. These were again fun for the whole family whilst being interactive and enjoyable for all ages before getting splashed! The flat ride selection had some surprises also. Discobelix with the fire and water whilst being spun on a disk, Le Transdemonium being a fun but creepy ghost train and Le Defi De Cesar was a fun madhouse which had some surprises we did not expect!

The shows at the park ranged and had plenty to keep you occupied over the 12 hour+ day. We only managed to watch the Dolphin show which is shown at several points through the day. This was a nice show to enjoy (however upsetting to see the small enclosure for the Dolphin's). Alongside this, there were other shows held around the park however, we did not get to experience these.

To end the day, Parc Asterix over the summer have been hosting a light, sound and firework spectacular show to end the day with called L'ete Gaulois. This was a 20 minute show which was shown across the lake with multiple viewing points. This was over the backdrop of the Goudrix coaster and across the lake. This show incorporated lights, music, fireworks, inflatables and drones! This was something that definitely surprised us and was one of the best ways to end a long and exhausting day of thrills.

Once the day was over, we made our way over to the coach park to get picked up to make our way back into London for Sunday morning. TK Holidays are looking to run another trip to the park very soon and you should keep an eye out for this amazing experience.
