COMPLETED Paultons Park Happy Halloween Review 2018

Updated: Aug 15, 2019

Paultons Park which is known as the home of Peppa Pig World, has launched their Halloween event for 2018, Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween at Paultons is the friendliest, most frightful fun fest in the UK; with over 4000 pumpkins, ghostly scenes, spooky meet & greets, Freaky Fancy Dress competition, the thrilling Little Monsters Ball finale to finish each day and Paultons fun rides and attractions all included in the price!

A new Halloween schedule has been put in place on selected dates from the 6th October to 5th November 2018, with shows starting on the 20th October through to the 31st October. Including in this schedule is a host of enjoyable family acitivies which can be embedded in your average day at Paultons Park, allowing you to have some spooktacular fun this frightful season! The lineup consists of meeting the characters such as the Spirit Squad, Pickles the pumpkin and the creepy gatekeeper, who hates Halloween! A spooky story time and fancy dress competition which allow children to get really involved in Halloween acitivies! Plus the two incredible shows put on by the park being The Legends Of Paultons Manor & Little Monsters Ball.

Paultons Park have included their first Halloween walk through experience this year, known as The Big BOO Barn! Aimed at the family audience, it includes multiple short interactive walkthrough shows which allows guests of all ages to experience a taste of a Happy Halloween. We found the attraction included some well themed rooms for the park and was perfectly marketed for the families that would visit the park. Our favourite part of this attraction were the talking pumpkins with some punny Halloween jokes.

The experience ended with a photo opportunity if you choose to do so along with the talking duet being Cornelius Corn & a Professor Pumpkin. We believe this is a great way to end the attraction with more of an open space and allows the children to really be engaged in this experience for some time. As well as an opportunity to take shelter if the weather is adverse.

What makes this attraction stands out more is it is automatic and can be free flow through the day. Opening at 10am with the rest of the park, you get the full day to enjoy the full festive vibe Paultons Park are going with. The Big BOO Barn also can include actors to lead the experience if they choose to do so, with the ending scene allowing for extra interactiveness! Overall, we think for a first attempt of a Halloween experience, they have nailed a perfect family themed attraction, which is not really seen in the UK theme park market currently.

The other main attraction would be the two shows. The Legend Of Paultons Manor is a 30 minute interactive show based using the roaming characters around the park. Including the Spirit Squad, Pickles the Pumpkin along with the creepy gravekeeper, the show is jampacked of suspense, drama and effects for the family to enjoy. Our favourite part of the show is something we have never seen in the UK before and believe is a UK's first of managing to make a costumed character fully dissappear in front of guests eyes. We understand that this may be a simple magic trick that is performed by many people, we have never seen this included and done on a costume character, which isn't the easiest to hide or disguise!

The other show which ends up the festive acitivies at the Happy Halloween event is The Little Monsters Ball. This being a 20-30 minute show included some top Halloween tunes along with some dance moves that kids can join along to. They even allow the characters to join them on the stage, with the main man Pickles even coming to perform a few dance numbers with the crew. The show was full of fun for the younger audience and we thought this was a great interactive idea yet again by Paultons Park, to leave guests having a Happy Halloween before leaving for the day!

Along with all the festive additions, you could not forget about how the park had added thousand of pumpkins all around with multiple photo points and roaming actors. There was something to see or do around most of the park and it was great to see Paultons Park getting included in the Halloween season. For the first big push on the Halloween season, we think they are onto the winner and cannot wait to see what they can add on next year!

If all of the above wasn't enough for the Halloween season, Paultons Park will have 2 additional late night openings during the event. Friday 26th & Saturday 27th of October will be the first time for Halloween that Paultons Park open from 10am until 19:30! This will allow you to get even more family fun frights in the same price you would for any other day, plus some all important night rides! Hopefully we can see more of these later openings in 2019 which we can go and visit...
