Roof East - Social Fun & Games Club Review

Roof East, located in Stratford on the roof of a multi-storey car park, it hosts a section of social fun activities with Olympic views this summer. Roof East is a social fun & games club themed around a circus for 2018. Sunsets, Olympic Park views, a round of golf, a swing and a hit, a hip-hop bowl and some street food to gorge on are all available at Roof East until September 30th 2018!

On our visit on a cloudy but warm Sunday, we went down for a few hours to check out this interesting venue which has returned for 2018. This experience was open last year however, for 2018 it has returned with a circus theme to celebrate 250 years of all things spectacular. The entrance was on top of a multi-storey car park and can be accessed through a shopping centre. Roof East is laid out with multiple different activities including crazy golf, a batting cage, bowls and table games such as jenga. This was all accompanied by several bars serving cocktails, beer and soft drinks along with BBQ cooked food.

Our first activity was Birdies Crazy Golf. Returning with a circus theme, the refreshed 9 hole course includes a human cannonball, the Saxon's strongman challenge and the death defying leap. The area is quite small and compact for a crazy golf course however, being on a roof top, they are limited on space and is spacious enough for a 9 hole course. The course matched the theme of the circus very nicely and had many circus attributes linked with the course. Sadly, this wasn't our favourite crazy golf we have ever done due to it's simplicity and compactness, yet still provided a fun session in a unique location!

The next activity we indulged in was De La Bowl, a hip-hop version of a very old game, bowls. This is not aimed for the older generation however, with hip-hop & R&B tunes playing in the background and drinks flowing, this can provide a fun session. If you don't understand the game, they make it simple with an instructor giving you a quick tutorial on the rules alongside an instruction board on the side in each bay. We believe this is a pretty cool spin on the game and a totally different experience than a normal game.

Our last experience and the most enjoyable, Sluggers, the only rooftop batting cage in London! Updated for 2018, you can now control the speed of your balls and make it even more competitive against your friends. Matching the circus theme also, you pick the speed and test your batting skills out in the cage. A simple yet fun attraction that does keep you occupied over the hour session.

Overall, our experience was very much enjoyed and we believe this place will be ever so popular in the summer, especially in the sunshine! Even if you don't fancy playing crazy golf or batting, you can enjoy the hip-hop vibes and watch the sun go down.

You can buy your tickets for Roof East over on the website found below. They are opening Tuesday to Friday between 5pm-11pm or Saturday-Sunday from 12pm till 11pm. We like to thank the friendly team for their help during our trip and for letting us come down to experience Roof East.
