On Friday 11th May, we were kindly invited down by the City Mazes team to preview and test their new escape room, The Runner! This new escape room is based in Bristol and is themed around the Maze Runner trilogy. Please note when reading, this was its first day in operation and therefore, in its testing phase.
This escape room is based in a shipping container and we noticed this when first arriving. This did leave to some worry on how big the room would be. However, they used the space very wisely. Splitting it into separate sections which makes it seems bigger when inside.
With any escape room we do, we don't want to give any spoilers or answers for any of the puzzles or tasks. They use a great range of puzzles with cleverly worded clues hidden all around.
The biggest feature to The Runner is the use of technology. We won't go into the full detail however the puzzles used with the technology is some of the best we've seen and really pushes boundaries with what can be done in an escape room!
Overall, we believe this is the best escape room we've done at City Mazes Bristol. It ties in with the story of The Maze Runner and the use of technology really stands out for us. We can't wait to see how other teams manage to do and what City Mazes have in store for us next!
