Time Run - The Celestial Chain - Review 2017

On Sunday 15th of January, we were kindly invited down by Time Run to go experience the brand new escape room they had to offer.

Time Run is one of the best escape rooms that London has, with two quests now being on offer. Chapter one being "The Lance of Longinus" with chapter two being "The Celestial Chain". The Lance of Longinus is a traditional escape room, where you have 60 minutes to escape a room full of problem solving quests. The Celestial Chain, which opened towards the end of November, takes a different turn on a traditional escape room. This escape room lasts 90 minutes and is described as "The Cinematic Action Adventure With An All-New Format" on Time Runs website!

We arrived at the location just before out allocated time, with strict instructions on the door of our entry, to press the doorbell exactly on our time slot time. When we did this, we were introduced to a scientist named Aubrey Defoe, who invited us in to the building. He then made sure we were all okay before giving us a backstory to Time Run, himself, his assistant Luna Fox and time travel.

We were then told, we would be time travelling to the past and the future to collect ancient artefacts to help us in the final room on our quest. We wouldn't be alone on our quest, there was an evil force, a rogue Goddess, who wanted to stop us from completing our mission and locking her back away in The Celestial Chain.

Luna couldn't join us for our quest and sadly neither could Aubrey. However, they wouldn't leave us travelling across time alone. Luna had another assistant which she created. Babbage is a fully sentient, artificial intelligence, which was built from Luna's basic engineering skills. Over time, Babbage has received many upgrades and is now ready to help fellow Time-Runners on there quest to save man kind!

From this point onward, we don't really want to spoil this immersive experience if you haven't visited this attraction already! Each room we did visit though, was themed from every corner, with each and every time zone being different from the last and relying on many team based skills. As we said at the start, this isn't a traditional escape room and you didn't have a certain amount of time to escape the rooms. However, you did only have a maximum of 12 minutes in each room before moving on to the next time zone!

At the end of the experience, you was greeted by another scientist who made sure we had no side effects from time travelling! He also broke down our quest and spoke us through each of the time zones and quests to see what ones we did get and didn't get. We then received a form which had our score out of 100 on it. You scored points in each time zone and the better you did, the more points you received!

After that, we took a team photo and then our experience officially ended as we stepped back into the streets of London! We really believe this is one of the strongest experiences you can experience in London and really does take a twist on a traditional escape rooms! From the superb acting, to the themes of each room, to the quests and problems we had to solve, we enjoyed it all!

If you want to experience Time Run for yourself, head over to there website and book yourself an experience like no others.
